The Residential Aide is responsible for providing direct supervision and support to residents of Cumberland Family Shelter while helping to maintain a safe, secure, clean, and respectful residential environment.
The Residential Aide monitors shelter activities, enforces established shelter rules and procedures, responds to resident needs and emergencies, completes required documentation, and communicates relevant information to supervisory and social service staff.
The Residential Aide is not a case manager or clinical provider. The position is responsible for recognizing resident needs and concerns and referring or reporting those matters to the appropriate shelter staff.
The Residential Aide is expected to interact with residents in a professional, respectful, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed manner consistent with the mission and Housing First philosophy of Rural Development Corporation.
